PG-01 Series FAQs

Q. The display is not lit.
A. Ensure that the lead from the external power supply is securely attached to the input on the radio and the other end is plugged into a mains outlet that is switched on. If the fault remains then try plugging the power adaptor into another mains socket. If there’s still no power then check / replace the fuse

Q. The display is lit but there is no audio.
A. Unplug any headphones that may be connected at the rear then make sure that the volume control is turned up.

Q. The radio has auto-tuned in DAB mode but no signals were found.
A. Extend the telescopic aerial as far as it will go then try repositioning the receiver. e.g. move it to another room or near to a window. Now perform the auto-tune again. Please refer to your user guide for instructions.

Q. I’ve tried moving the aerial and repositioning the receiver but I still can’t receive any DAB signals.
A. Go to http://www.digitalradionow.com/ and check that you can receive DAB transmissions in your area. If you don’t have access to the internet, please contact us.

Q. Whilst listening to certain DAB stations the audio sometimes drops out and breaks up.
A. Check the signal strength level by pressing the info button until a moving bar is displayed. If it’s low then try extending the telescopic aerial as far as it will go. Reposition the radio or try moving it to another room or near to a window.

Q. In FM mode the audio hisses and crackles.
A. If you have a weak FM signal then try switching the radio over to “Mono”. Please refer to your user guide for instructions. FM requires a stronger signal in order to decode the stereo part of the signal than for just the mono component.

Q. When the alarm has triggered there is no sound either in beep or radio mode.
A. Ensure that the volume level is set to your desired level before you put the unit into standby.

Q. I’ve moved house or taken my radio to a new location and now it says “not available” when I select a DAB station.
A. The radio will still be tuned into your original location. When you move it to a different location or to another part of the country you will need to perform a “Factory Reset” so that you can pick up the local and national DAB stations in that new area. Please refer to your user guide for instructions.

Q. I’ve lost / broken my aerial. Can I obtain a replacement?
A. Please call +44 (0)161 828 5219 or e-mail support@intempodigital.com. Please note that there will be a charge for replacement aerials.

Q. Reception in my area is very poor. Can I fit an external aerial?
A. You can fit an external aerial to the radio but you have to remove the telescopic one first. Turn the first larger nut at the bottom of the aerial anti-clockwise. Once removed it leaves a standard F-Type connector. External aerials can be obtained from many electronic supplies stores. Alternatively, contact us and we can supply.

Q. I can receive some stations, but not others
A. It is possible that your local multiplex has gone off air temporarily. If you press the info button until it displays the ensemble/multiplex, then you can ascertain if the missing stations are on the same multiplex. If this is the case, please wait until transmissions are restored.

A. Unplug any headphones that may be connected at the rear then make sure that the volume control is turned up, (clockwise).

Q. The radio has auto-tuned in DAB mode but no signals were found.
A. This unit carries a single DAB/FM lead wire antenna. To obtain the best performance you should fully extend the wire antenna and adjust the position as well as the direction until you find the best reception. For ideal DAB reception, always maintain the lead wire antenna in a vertical position. (Holding it upward or downward behind the unit is highly recommended). Now perform the auto-tune again (see user guide for instructions).

Q. I’ve tried moving the aerial and repositioning the receiver but I still can’t receive any DAB signals.

T. I can receive some stations, but not others
It is possible that your local multiplex has gone off air temporarily. If you press the info button until it displays the ensemble/multiplex, then you can ascertain if the missing stations are on the same multiplex. If this is the case, please wait until transmissions are restored.

Q. I am unable to receive DAB signals so therefore the radio is only used in FM mode. The time shown on the display is incorrect. It never updates.
A. In order for the clock to synchronise to the current local time you must leave it on one DAB station for approximately 1 -2 minutes. Manual clock setting is not required. (Please note that the clock will only set and be updated if you can receive DAB signals in your location. If you can only receive FM then the time will not be set or updated).

Q. The remote control will only work if you are very close to the radio.
A. Replace the battery in the remote control.

Q. The CD will not read some of my CD-R and CD-RW discs.
A. Although this CD player can read CD-R and CD-RW discs in addition to normal CDs, the playability of CD-R and CD-RW discs may be affected by the type of software that was used to create the discs, as well as the quality and condition of the blank media you are using. 100% playability cannot be guaranteed. This is not an indication of a problem with the player.

Q. I have set the alarm to come on to a certain track but when the alarm time arrives, it just beeps instead of playing the track
A. If a CD cannot be read, (if it’s dirty or scratched etc.), then the laser pick up may have trouble reading the disc. If this is the case then the unit will beep so at least you are still awoken by the alarm.
Q.How do I stop the alarm volume ramping up when in radio mode ?
A. Press any of the preset or select buttons on the remote. This will stop the volume increasing. You can then set the volume to the desired level.
